2. COMPOSITION/INFORMATION ON INGREDIENTS:

  • Chemical Nature: Modified salt, dissolves in water (contains 75% by mass table salt -NaCl).

3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION:

  • Main Hazard: R 36/R 38: Irritant to skin and eyes 

  • Corrosive to metals if subjected to water or moisture.

4. FIRST AID MEASURES:

  • Skin Contact: 

    • Remove contaminated clothing and rinse affected area with soap and liberal amounts of water.

  • Eye Contact: 

    • Flush immediately with copious amounts of water for at least 10 minutes. (remove contact lenses)

5. FIRE FIGHTING:

  • Extinguishing media: Extinguish with foam or dry powder.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES:

  • Personal Precautions: 

    • Avoid any personal contact, wear suitable protective gear.

  • Environmental Precautions: 

    • Contain spillage and prevent run-off into watercourses and sewers.

  • Method for Cleaning Up: 

    • Remove spilt material and clean contaminated area with liberal amounts of water and detergent.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE:

  • Handling: 

    • Avoid any personal contact, wear suitable protective gear. Remove residual material from metal equipment or containers.

  • Storage:

    • Always store in a securely and properly labelled container, preventing exposure to water or moisture. For long term storage, plastic containers are preferred to metal ones.

    • Protective goggles and chemical protective gloves. An eyewash station should be immediately accessible from the work area.

  • Hygiene Measures: 

    • Always wash hands with liberal amounts of water and soap.
